My great passion is the charm and mystery of hand painted illustration, blending and mixing traditional media. It thrills and challenges me to depict diverse characters of different ages in distinct situations and moods, often with a humorous touch. My publications so far have included storybooks, gift books and poetry.

Biography
Before graduating from the Estonian Academy of Arts (2008) I received academic painting and drawing training at my artist father Ants Viidalepp’s studio. I chose Fashion Design as my main subject since I adored drawing fashion illustrations.

After my Bachelor’s degree I started working as a correspondent journalist for a fashion magazine in Los Angeles, California. At the same time I continued to develop my interest in oil painting, participating in exhibitions and performances in LA. In 2012 I held a solo exhibition with oil paintings and prints in Pärnu, Estonia.

Getting more and more interested in interviewing people & observing their lives I decided to do a Masters in documentary film directing. Two years of studies at the Baltic Film & Media School in Tallinn was full of analysing framing, scripts, photography and storytelling.

After graduation I moved to Paris, France where I got my first illustration commission for a poetry  book. In 2013 I held an exhibition in Alicante, Spain, presenting big format oil paintings – reflections from Paris.

I then moved to London, UK where I was busy illustrating books for 5 years. Since 2018 I live in the South of Sweden and I have now illustrated seven books. I work with traditional media such as watercolour, colour ink, graphite, pastel, oil colour and marker pen as well as with digital media.
